This is dwarf and bush type (height 50-60 cm), photo-insensitive, early flowering (40-45 days after sowing) and early picking (50-55 days after sowing) variety suitable for growing in both spring-summer and rainy seasons. Pods are about 30-35 cm long, dark green, soft, fleshy and free from parchment. The cultivar gives green pod yield of about 150-175 q/ ha and is resistant to golden mosaic virus and Pseudocercospora cruenta.
This hybrid is suitable for warm humid climate with relatively long day length. Plants are medium tall, height 110-150 cm, flowering starts on 30-40 days after sowing at 4-5 nodes. Fruit are green, 12-14 cm long at marketable stage, yield 180-200 q/ha. This is resistant to YVMV and OLCV. This has been released and notified for the cultivation in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, and Chhattisgarh, Orissa and A.P.
Plants are tall, height 130-175 cm, with 1-2 effective branches. First flower appears after 36-38 days after sowing on 4th nodes during rainy season and 3rd node during summer season. Fruits are 8-10 cm in length at marketable stage, 23-25 per plants and yield 180-190 q/ha during rainy and 130-140 q/ha during summer season. This is resistant to YVMV and OLCV.
This F1 hybrid has been developed by crossing PBC-473 x KA-2 at IIVR Varanasi. Plants of are tall (100-110 cm height) without nodal pigmentation on dull green stems and bear pendant fruits. Fruits are long (8-9 x 1.0-1.2 cm), attractive, dark green and turn bright red at physiological maturity, pungent with smooth surface. First picking of the green fruits starts at about 45 days after transplanting.
