भारतीय सब्जी अनुसंधान संस्थान, वाराणसी में प्रधान वैज्ञानिक एवं जैवप्रौद्योगिकी विशेषज्ञ डॉ डी पी सिंह को स्टैनफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी की प्रतिष्ठित सूची में विश्वभर के शीर्ष 2% वैज्ञानिकों में शामिल किया गया है। यह सम्मान डॉ सिंह के पादप जीव विज्ञान, विशेष रूप से सूक्ष्मजीवी जैव प्रौद्योगिकी और पादप-सूक्ष्मजीव इंटरैक्शन में उनके काम के लिए मिला है। वे मेटाबोलोमिक्स और प्रोटिओमिक्स टूल्स का उपयोग करके जलवायु परिवर्तन की चुनौतियों के तहत पौधों की अंतर्निहित प्रतिक्रियाओं को उजागर करते हैं।

This recognition came from Dr. Singh's work in the area of plant biology, especially in microbial biotechnology and plant-microbe interactions. He works with metabolomics and proteomics tools to uncover intrinsic interaction responses of plants under climatic challenged conditions.

Stanford University publishes the list of the top 2% most widely cited scientists in different disciplines. This ranking, considered most prestigious worldwide, is based on the bibliometric information contained in the Scopus database and includes more than 190000 researchers among almost 8.5 million scientists considered to be active worldwide, with 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields that were taken into account.
