Kashi Krishna (VRCAR- 126)

Attractive black coloured roots along with self coloured core. Tolerant to bolting, fewer secondary roots/scars, suitable for salad, juice, halwa, kanji (fermented juice) and nutraceutical purpose. Rich source of anthocyanin (285 mg/100g FW), phenolics and antioxidants. Root yield (20-22 t/ha). Recommended for cultivation in Uttar Pradesh & notified vide gazette notification number S.O. 692(E), dated 05.02.2019.

Package of Practices

  1. Seed rate: 4.0-4.5 kg/ha.
  2. Spacing: 40-45×8-10 cm.
  3. After germination, seedlings are thinned 4-5 cm apart to maintain the plant population of about 6-8 lakh/ha which is sufficient to get optimum yield.
  4. Nutritional requirement: NPK @ 100:60:50 kg/ha.
