I was born and brought up in Varanasi.

I completed my B.Sc. (Ag) in 2005 from BHU, Varanasi and M.Sc. Ag ( Plant Breeding & Genetics) from GBPUAT, Pantnagar in 2007 .

I joined Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Government of India as scientist (Plant Breeding) in 2011.

I completed In-service Ph.D. (Genetics and Plant Breeding) in 2016 from Navsari Ag. University.

Currently, my research is focussed on genetic improvement of chilli for disease resistance and high yield with better fruit quality. I am also working on characterization and evaluation of germplasm of two vegetable legumes namely cluster bean and faba bean.

I have guided five MSc Students during my career.
