Sankalp Se Siddhi Programme organized at ICAR-IIVR KVK Deoria
Sankalp Se Siddhi- New India Manthan programme has been organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra on 30th August, 2017. The programmed comprised of video film having message of Hon`ble Prime Minister for doubling the farmers income followed by the Sankalp Se Siddhi pledge administered to the gatherings by the Chief guest, Shri Surya Pratap Shahi, Hon`ble Agriculture Minister Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Guest in his inaugural address focused on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PFBY), which will facilitate the disbursement of loan and provide extensive crop insurance coverage from pre-sowing to post harvest losses from natural calamities on a very low premium rates. He further exhorted that micro irrigation technology needs to be adopted by the farming community for promoting water conservation and ensure more crop per drop of water. He stressed upon need of the adoption of organic farming which will reduce the cost of cultivation and thereby enhancing the production and productivity of the crop.
The Guest of Honour, Shri Ravinder Kushwaha, Hon’ble M.P., Salempur applauded the activities of KVK. He urged the farming community to adopt proven technologies in agriculture and allied field which will ensure the enhancement of production and productivity raising the income of the farming community in many folds.
Dr. Bijendra Singh, Director, ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi in his address, highlighted the importance of soil health card to know the nutrient status of their soil so as to reduce the cost of cultivation by minimizing the excessive use of fertilizers.
A technical session on production and protection technologies of crops, vegetables, fruits as well as livestock was also organized to enrich and update the farmer’s knowledge. A total of 760 participants including farmers, farm women, student, extension functionaries and officer from development department of Deoria district attended the programme. A total of 16 stalls were also put in the exhibition by the different line departments and private companies. They highlighted their technologies in the form of poster, folder, leaflet, flax, equipments, implements and live samples etc.
